Wall Compatibility Check
The Magnetic Wall Chalkboards should be installed on a smooth or light-structured wall.
Avoid damp or cold areas like basements, as these conditions may reduce the product’s longevity.
The chalkboard should not be installed on uneven or very textured surfaces such as:
- Very rough walls & wallpapers
- Stain resistant or air-cleaning paints
- Old, cracked or deteriorated paint/ walls
- Newly painted walls – Please wait atleast 30 days to apply the chalkboard if the wall is newly painted.
However, should you still be in doubt, the product also comes with a small test piece (approx. 12x12cm), which you can try and attach to your chosen surface before full application.
If the test piece doesn't stick, the unopened and unused product can be returned!
BUT here’s the twist! If you don’t have the type of wall required—you can still easily mount the board onto a smooth MDF plate (or similar panel) instead! Go to our MDF-plate Setup Guide to see how 😉
